International School for Classical homeopathy

Within the Clinical Training Center for Classical Homeopathy Dr. Geukens founded the International School for Classical Homeopathy in 1991 with the aim to spread Classical Homeopathy.

The International School for Classical Homeopathy teaches the methods, practice, and skills of Classical Homeopathy as developed by Samuel Hahnemann, M.D.

The study of Classical Homeopathy in all its facets and depths is a lifetime pursuit. The purpose of this course is to help you establish a solid foundation. The curriculum is designed to emphasize the practical application of the art and science of Classical Homeopathy. Interviewing techniques, case analysis, symptom interpretation, repertory work, material medica, observation and clinical skills are blended together in a comprehensive, innovative curriculum.


General information

To get the recognition as a homeopath within the European Community, it is necessary to reach 200 hours curriculum (Saturday course) and 150 hours of practice (LIVE-CASES) spread over a period of 3 years. For the supervision practice we can rely upon the daily practice of the Classical Homeopathy in the Clinical Training Center nearby.

This three year part-time training is accessible for doctors AND non-doctors. In addition to therapists especially nurses are very much interested in this part-time training. The enrollment is limited to 30 until 35 students and a CERTIFICATE „Classical homeopath” is awarded upon successful completion of the three-year part-time training. This certificate is valid in whole Europe.

The International School for Classical Homeopathy is recognized according to the severe European norms and has a growing international interest.
By means of cured cases from practice the students will be taught in philosophy, repertorisation and materia medica of Classical Homeopathy.

The LIVE-CASES will take place 2x4 days a year. A few patients, who are present at that time in the Clinical Training Center will be followed and discussed in the group.


CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

The part-time training takes three years and is besides doctors, veterinarians, dentists and pharmacists also accessible for non-doctors.
Not only therapists but also nurses, natural healers and herb doctors are very much interested in this part-time training.

The course is for beginners as well as for advanced students in Classical Homeopathy.

You should have at least a secondary education with knowledge of English and a basic medical knowledge.

The course consists of only cured video cases from the practice of Dr. Geukens, which are all cured by means of Classical Homeopathy. Since it concerns an international public the videotapes will be translated simultaneously into English and German. The teaching language is English. The repertorization will be in English as well as in German and is projected.

Note that enrollment in the course is limited to 60 students per year, and is allocated on a first come first serve basis. Early registration is advised to avoid being closed out of the course.

Each year consists of 12 teaching days:

Twice six days a year from Monday until Saturday -> At the end of the course once four days, from Wednesday until Saturday

LIVE-CASES:

Twice four days a year from Wednesday until Saturday

The course is the basis of the training. An independent home study takes more time but is at least as important as the course.


CURRICULUM

A. Course

The purpose of this course is to help you establish a solid foundation. The curriculum is designed to emphasize the practical application of Classical Homeopathy in practice. The course consists of only cured video cases from the practice of Dr. Geukens, and by means of these video cases the philosophy, the repertorisation and the materia medica will be taught.

After every course week you will get homework. It consists of repertorization of paper cases which are cured; and philosophical questions which have to be solved by means of the Organon. The homework can be done in English or German. At the end of the three years we confirm 120 hours for the working-out of the homework.

B. LIVE-CASES

A second requirement for the recognition as a homeopath in accordance with the European norms is 150 hours of practice spread over a period of 3 years. This practice is given on 2 x 4 days a year

During the LIVE-CASES the students follow a first anamnesis live and which is followed by a discussion with Dr. Geukens about the choice of the remedy, the potency and frequency of the remedy and the way it should be administered.

After a feedback of each patient the reaction on the homeopathic remedy and the influence of allopathic medicines will be discussed.

RECOGNITION AND PROFESSIONAL PERSPECTIVE

The intention of Dr. Geukens is, and according to him it is his duty, to teach Classical Homeopathy in a way so that you get a good, fundamental and elementary knowledge and that you can use that knowledge successfully in your practice of treating patients.

Dr. Geukens considers it as a “must” to pass this information to everybody and in this way contribute to the spread of Classical Homeopathy.

Whether you can practice Classical Homeopathy professionally depends on your basic training and is certainly no problem for doctors.

For non-doctors it depends on the law of their country.

However, the cooperation with a doctor is the ideal formula if you want to practice Classical Homeopathy professionally.

Homeopathy is based on a law of nature, and so it is logic that every human being has the right to apply this law of nature.

It is only human to pass all this information about the law of nature to everybody who is interesting and who is doing the effort to cure himself and/or his fellow men.

In Belgium the training is recognized by the “Belgische faculteit voor homeopathische geneeskunde” (Belgium faculty for homeopathic medicine), which is again recognized by the Belgium Order of physicians.

In Europe the training is recognized by the “European Committee for Homeopathy”.
